This is likely warm enough to preclude any significant convection today or tomorrow. The shortwave that moved through the area Wednesday afternoon briefly cooled 500 mb temperatures enough to allow isolated convection, but those readings are forecast to warm from -6C to -3 to -4C this afternoon and Friday. Upper ridge will remain where it's at through Friday, although it may flatten to more of an east-west axis tomorrow, extending as far east as the Florida Panhandle. Temperatures generally in the 70s at 3 AM CDT. There are a few patches of fog over portions of our CWA, with Pascagoula reporting visibilities in the 1-2 mile range. A shortwave on the east side of the ridge is moving offshore of Louisiana early this morning, producing some thunderstorms that will move out of our western coastal waters over the next hour or so.
